Junior Professorship in Strategic Entrepreneurship

The advertised role is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate that holistically covers high competencies in all three areas of research, teaching and transfer.In the field of research, the potential to develop an internationally recognized entrepreneurship research reputation is of very high importance. Run by HHL as a university-level institution, DIGITAL SPACE strongly integrates research into its activities contributing also to the overall research output and visibility of HHL. The candidate should show a first track record of publications in international high-quality journals with high impact on either academic or practice-oriented audiences. Experience in a business school environment should be reflected by an obtained doctoral degree from a leading European or international Business School. HHL has a reputation for outstanding teaching and a very international student body. The candidate should show strong evidence of international teaching excellence at the interface of strategic management and entrepreneurship. Teaching approaches should combine multiple methods and follow a research-induced teaching style. For efficient teaching a fluency in both English and German are required. Transfer capabilities of the successful candidate are an important aspect for contributing to the objectives of DIGITAL SPACE to develop and incubate new business models both in start-ups and in established organizations. The candidate should have deep applicable knowledge about start-up incubation and acceleration and experience in conceptualization and delivery of start-up support and acceleration programs in the university context. For authentic support and coaching activities, substantial practical experience in e.g. strategy consulting or a leading role in a start-up are required. As the responsibilities of the role include active fundraising, a track record of acquired research funding is beneficial. The candidate should have experience in building entrepreneurial ecosystems and/or deep knowledge about regional, national and international entrepreneurial ecosystem.
